Camp Halloween

Many years ago I was asked to be one of the Stake Girls' Camp cooks. It was 3 really wonderful years with some women who have had such an impact in my life. A few of us still get together every few months. This time we had a Halloween reunion dinner. It was great fun!!

BYU football!

Kent and I went to the BYU/Boise State game with our grandson Jackson. It was perfect weather - you can see it was a bit chilly, but beautiful!

 We had great seats - with backs on them, thank goodness!

 In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the team wore pink shoes

 To make it even better - we WON!!!

Making Strides for Breast Cancer

Today has been a wonderful day! Today was the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides for Breast Cancer" walk. All of my daughters were able to join me. We even had our own team, complete with T-shirts. Thank you to Becky and her friend for those!!!

Of course, after getting up early to do the walk, we had to nourish ourselves with a delicious breakfast and then we got to visit Becky's almost-home!

Here we are just before the walk. We all had pink ribbons in our hair - thank you Becky. We also wore signs on our backs giving the name of the person we were walking in honor of - that would be me! As a survivor I also got the lovely pink banner. :)

Perfect day! How I love being alive. How I love the Fall. How I love my girls!!!! :)

7 out of 9 grandchildren agree: The Zoo is Fun!!

We went to the zoo with all but 2 of our grandchildren. We missed you, Jackson and Zoe! The weather was perfect, the animals were in fine spirits and the company was exceptional. Here are some of the animals we saw:

Baby elephant

Most of us went into see the apes and missed the elephant show - he stood on his head! Those who were lucky enough to see it, took some great pictures. I wasn't one of them - :(

This little guy was so cute. He's stealing food from his parent. The funny thing was that he would swing away really fast and then drop the stolen goods!! 

 He looks like he's sucking his thumb:

Bald eagles

 Seals - they can see their trainers getting ready to come out and are anxiously waiting for the fish!

He was told to lie down - so he did. Why do I call them all "he"?

Here and there throughout the zoo, they had displays like this one, all made out of legos. It was impressive!

This guy kept jumping around so fast, it took several tries before I could get a non-blurry picture.

This one was a little less active.

I have no idea what this is, but I thought it was picture-worthy.

The monkey walked down this branch, towards me - just so I could snap the picture.

Meerkats apparently love having their photo taken.

Play Date with Haley

My granddaughter, Haley, and I had a play date a few weeks ago. I sure do love this adorable person!! She's eight and full of fun.

Our first stop was Wendy's for lunch. Here she is trying to suck up her Frosty. It was too thick.

After lunch we went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. Right now they have a special room entitled "Tinkering". Here are some things we did there:

And then she launched it in this air tube. It flew out the top and up to the ceiling!

This area was for playing and shaping sand on a rotating wheel. I even tried this one.

When we finished tinkering we went into the dinosaur museum.

If it had been up to her, she would have stuck her head inside the shark's mouth. Cooler heads prevailed. :)

I was tempted to put on an apron and play myself. Again, cooler heads prevailed. :)
